Escape to Malta

20 April

I know I've been MIA for a a little while but I thought that I might aswell do a post about my quick escape to Malta. Now, I absolutely love travelling and seeing the world so my bestie and I decided to book a short trip away for a few days. There wasn't a particular reason as to why we chose Malta, but since neither of us have been before, why not visit somewhere that is completely new to the both of us.

We stayed in Qawra, Malta which is a great place for tourists, it's quite central to everything and all other towns are less than 45 mins away. Our hotel had a sea front view which is rather breathtaking, trust me the view was something special. We were surrounded by alot of food restaurants which was good and located right next to the bus station so it wasn't any hassle if we wanted to travel out of town. (Bus rides are only 1.50 euros including 2 hour transfers) Malta is quite a small island so nothing is that far away. For instance, to get to Paceville, St Julian's its a 25-30 minute bus ride, here you to find the bars, clubs and shisha all that fun stuff for a lively night. Silema on the other hand is a modern town which consists of all your known highstreet/ Designer stores such as MAC, Nike, Bershka, Guess, Zara, Mango etc. Oh and McDonalds and Burger King. (So it's a good place to shop and dine).

Five days, four nights was plenty of time to visit this beautiful island and see some amazing buildings/views. We went to three different beaches. One of which is the famous Golden Bay beach with really golden sand, Ghadira Bay which is Malta's largest sandy beach and The island of Comino, surrounded by the crystal clear waters known as The Blue Lagoon which is pretty amazing. I literally felt like I was in Paradise, the view is actually one of a kind and I honestly do not think my photos done it justice. It can get a little over crowded since there is not very much sand but it is a must see if visiting Malta.

The food is pretty good too, as Malta is situated just under Italy it has huge influences from the Italian culture so expect to see lots of pizza and pasta restaurants, you also have Burgers and Kebabs, all of that familiar stuff.

The weather was beauts averaged between 23-27 degrees so I'm guessing that we went just at the beginning of there summer months so possibly visit during May-August, I suppose it would be alot hotter. The winds during the night were quite strong so i did have to wear a light bomber to keep warm other than that the weather was A1 lol.

Great little getaway plus it is a really cheap place to visit so definitely put Malta on your bucket list. Below are a few of my photos from my holiday, any questions just comment below! x
